Ptesimogaster

Head cubical; clypeus semicircularly emarginate at apex, forming a circular opening with mandibles; occiput marginated; notauli shallow, foveolate, obscured behind by a wide rugose area; propodeum swollen on sides, rugose, not areolate; fore tibia with a row of 6-8 stout spines on anterior edge; fore wing with 3 cubital cells; recurrent vein entering second cubital cell; subdiscoideus leaving first brachial cell below middle; media sinuate; fore wing with 2 or 3 dark transverse bands; radiella weak basally; cubitella and postnervellus distinct; abdomen subpetiolate, widening gradually from base to near apex, the sides of the first tergite forming a nearly continuous line with remainder of abdomen; first tergum with wing-like projections at each side at base; abdomen with no sculpturing beyond base of terga (2-3); ovipositor at least as long as abdomen [1].

Because of the wing venation, a relationship could be seen with Spathius and Rhaconotus, but it is distinguished by the subdiscoideus which leaves the first brachial cell below its middle (rather interstitial in the two other genera), and the wing-like projections on the first tergite [1].
