Megaloproctus
A moderate genus of large species. Around 30 species are known [1].

Moderate to large size species, 8.0-20.0 mm; most species brightly colored orange and black with infuscated or banded wings; occipital carina present, not meeting hypostomal carina; eyes large, malar space usually 0.33 eye height or less; mesosoma usually smooth, without extensive sculpturing; fore wing vein m-cu interstitial with or basal to vein 2RS, first subdiscal cell closed by vein 2cu-a, hind wing vein M+CU as long or longer than vein 1M; leg long and slender, fore tarsus often twice as long as tibia, fore tibia with row of 5-8 stout spines along anterior edge, hind coxa evenly rounded at base without distinct tubercle or angle; metasoma long and narrow, usually smooth with sculpturing only on first and second terga and usually with shallow smooth transverse groove on third tergum, basal sternal plate of first tergum short, 0.25 or less length of tergum, dorsope large and deep; ovipositor at least as long as metasoma, often longer than entire body [1].

The long hind wing vein M+CU, the smooth mesosoma and the round hind coxa without a basal tubercle will distinguish this genus [1].
