Ecphylopsis
A small genus of apterous or micropterous braconids. Three species are known [1].

Small size, 1.5-3.0 mm; both sexes wingless or with short scale-like wing pads; eye small, ocelli weak or absent; occipital carina meeting hypostomal carina; first flagellomere as long as second; pronotum large, length of pronotal collar greater than first flagellomere; scutellum conical; first metasomal segment longer than apical width, basal sternal plate about 0.33 length of tergum, dorsope distinct; fore tibia with row of 6-8 stout spines along anterior edge; hind coxa without basal tubercle or tooth [1].

This genus can be separated from wingless specimens of Ecphylus, by the conical scutellum. It is similar to the Nearctic genus Aptenobracon but is distinguished by the weak or absent ocelli [1].

Some of the specimens of the species described from Hawaï could belong the genus Heterospilus (see Marsh, 2002).
