Small size, 2.5-3.5 mm; body generally sculptured acinose and acinose-costate; mesoscutum declivous anteriorly; 28-31 antennomeres; oral opening small, diameter equal to length of malar space; frons slightly excavated; occipital carina meeting hypostomal carina; fore tibia with row of 10 stout spines along anterior edge; hind coxa with small but distinct basal tooth; fore wing vein r-m present, first subdiscal cell open at apex; hind wing vein cu-a present, vein M+CU about 0.5 as long as vein 1M; first metasomal tergum nearly parallel sided, basal sternal plate 0.25 length of tergum, dorsope small but distinct [1].

Very similar to Johnsonius but is distinguished by the frons and vertex which are coriaceous or acinose, never striate or smooth as in Johnsonius, and by the ovipositor which is nearly as long as the body (usually shorter than metasoma in Johnsonius). It is also similar to Mononeuron but differ by the presence of hind wing vein cu-a, which is a major character separating genera [1].
