Evaniodes
A small genus very characteristic by its body shape. Five species are described [1].

Moderate size, 6.0-8.0 mm; head transverse, wider than high, oral opening small and circular, occipital carina meeting hypostomal carina; legs long and slender, fore tibia with single row of short stout spines along anterior edge, hind coxa with small but distinct basal tubercle; mesosoma stout, mesoscutum declivous anteriorly; metasoma attached high on propodeum, large space between petiole and hind legs, first metasomal segment petiolate, three or four times as long as apical width, basal sternal plate about 0.8 length of tergum, dorsope absent; fore wing vein r-m present, first subdiscal cell open but appearing closed by infuscate line but not distinct true vein 2cu-a; hind wing of female with vein M+CU equal to or greater than vein 1M, in male vein 1M nearly absent and obscured by swollen veins at intersection with vein r-m; ovipositor longer than metasoma, often longer than body [1].

Distinguished by its petiolate metasoma which is attached high on the propodeum (like in Evaniidae) and by the transverse narrow head.
The systematics of the genera Evaniodes and Pariodes were discussed by Barbalho & Penteado-Dias (1998).
